On Sunday, Feb. 23, former Halifax County High School standout Shamya Hankins’ current college team, the Virginia State Trojans, lost 12-4 in their NCAA Division II softball game against the UVA Wise Cavaliers.
The game took place at Bill Gatton Softball Field. This was their second matchup against the Cavaliers this season.
The Trojans’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 28 at 1 p.m. at BSU Softball Field against Bowie State Bulldogs.
