Meeting909

City of Danville issued the following announcement on July 21

The City Council on Tuesday night voted to cancel its next regular meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 3, and instead schedule a special meeting of the City Council on Thursday, Aug. 5. The change in dates will allow Council members and City staff to attend local National Night Out events being planned for Tuesday, Aug. 3.

National Night Out will feature activities at neighborhood sites across Danville. Opening ceremonies will be held at 4 p.m. at the Police Department’s Third Avenue Precinct. The precinct is located at 128 Third Ave., adjacent to the fire station in North Danville.

The Police Department coordinates the event to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police and community partnership. City Council members and city staff will attend the opening ceremonies and visit several other neighborhood sites.

The City Council meets in regular business and work sessions on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
