Halifax County Small Business Recovery Assistance Fund

41

Town of South Boston issued the following announcement on Jan. 9

The Town of South Boston has been awarded $500,000 of Community Development Block Grant funds from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development for the Halifax County Small Business Recovery Assistance Fund (SBRAF).  Through the Halifax County SBRAF, the Town of South Boston will help businesses meet their long-term business goals by adjusting to COVID-19 demands.

Establishing safe and clean re-opening procedures, in accordance with the Governor's guidance, is necessary for the safety of customer and employees.  It will allow businesses to regain and sustain operations, ideally helping them retain existing staff, fill vacant positions, create new jobs, and become more efficient and resilient.  Grant assistance to small businesses adversely impacted by COVID-19 will be offered in the form of space and technology upgrades, sanitation supplies, job training/technical assistance, and rent/mortgage assistance.  The maximum grant award to businesses will be $10,000.00.  Click on DDSB.com to apply; or contact Tamyra Vest at tvest@southbostonva.us.
