5% of citizens unemployed in Halifax County in 2021

Halifax County recorded an unemployment rate of 5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 722 people out of the 34,228 living in Halifax County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Halifax County has increased compared to the 3.9% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Halifax County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 13,859 people who had a job during that time, 46 were employed in the Armed Forces and 13,813 belonged to the civilian labor force.
