There were seven American Indian students enrolled in Pittsylvania County Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Pittsylvania County Public Schools District welcomed 7,861 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.1% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the school.

Pittsylvania County Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Pittsylvania County and has a main office in Chatham.

Among the 18 schools in Pittsylvania County Public Schools District, Dan River Middle School, Chatham Middle School, and Chatham Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2023-24 school year.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
