185 students were enrolled for kindergarten in Patrick County schools in 2023-24 school year

There were 185 kindergarten students enrolled in Patrick County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 23.2% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

The school that enrolled the largest number of kindergarten students in the county was Meadows of Dan Elementary School.

Within Patrick County schools, the largest number of students were found in 1st-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Patrick County ranked 87th in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 86th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
