Averett University women's golf freshman Lilli Caroline Tamburstuen finished in 11th place overall at the 2022 USA South Conference Championship, which concluded Wednesday at the Carolina Country Club.
Tamburstuen shot a 10-over 82 in the final round to put her at 34-over-par for the 54-hole event on the par-72, 5,615-yard course. Senior Cameron Stamm shot her best round of the tournament on Wednesday to finish in 32nd place for the Cougars in the program's first ever conference tournament appearance to finish off the inaugural season of women's golf.
Methodist University's Jillian Drinkard, the USA South Player of the Year, won the tournament by five strokes at even-par. Methodist's five participants all finished in the top six. The No. 4 Monarchs also took home the team title, edging Huntingdon College by 88 strokes.
