SVHEC’s Career Tech Academy will host an information session and tour event on July 28th from 6-8pm. Prospective students, parents, educators, and employers are encouraged to attend to learn more about the hands-on training program for high school juniors and seniors in Charlotte, Halifax, and Mecklenburg Counties.
During the July 28th event, attendees will have an opportunity to meet with CTA instructors, learn more about the educational and career pathways available through CTA, and start the enrollment process. This will be a “floating” event so guests may come at any time during the 6-8pm window.
In the Career Tech Academy, students gain in-demand job skills in automation & robotics, energy systems technology, information technology (IT), and welding (currently welding is only available to Halifax County students). After completing a Level 1 program, students may return as Level 2 students for the Work-Based Learning Program. Work-Based Learning pairs students with regional employers so they apply the skills and knowledge gained during Level 1, while gaining workplace success skills.
