Cross country's Ponce-Mexicano breaks another school record in Roanoke Invitational
Averett men's cross-country junior Anthony Ponce-Mexicano broke yet another school record after posting a 25:28.5 time and placing sixth overall in the 8k event at the Roanoke College Invitational on Friday night.
As a team, Averett placed 12th in the meet behind Division II teams, University of Virginia at Wise and Shaw University.
Freshman Keith Johnson posted a 28:07.2 time in the meet.
Freshman Carter Erickson crossed the finish line with a 30:15.4 time.
Junior Kinkade Huggins ran the event with a time of 33:14.2.
Sophomore Jasiri Dingle finished the meet, recording a 37:06.4 time.
The Cougars return to the course on Oct. 29, to compete in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships in Winchester, VA.
