NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ISSUES FREEZE WARNING
The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for the Danville area from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday. Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 31 degrees, with widespread frost, are expected during these hours.
The frost and freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, and should end the growing season for the year.
Take steps now to harvest crops and protect tender plants from the cold. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
