There were 3,849 Black students enrolled in Danville City Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 2.2% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Danville City Public Schools District welcomed 5,580 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 69% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the school.

Danville City Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Danville City and has a main office in Danville.

Among the 13 schools in Danville City Public Schools District, George Washington High School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
