Enrollment in Patrick County Public Schools District decreased from previous year

The only school district in Patrick County suffered declining enrollment in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

There were 2,379 students in Patrick County Public Schools District, 4.1% less than the year before.

Enrollment in Patrick County was steady with the state's trend of decreasing enrollment.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 50.7% of them were male, and 49.2% were female.

Data also showed that most of the studets were white, representing 77.4% of Patrick County Public Schools District's total enrollment.

Patrick County Public Schools District has a main office in Stuart and is the only school district within Patrick County.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
