Bassett High School had the highest enrollment among Henry County schools, welcoming 1,140 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed at the time, 51.7% of them were male, and 48.3% were female.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 54% of Bassett High School's total enrollment.

Among the 13 schools in Henry County, Magna Vista High School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 1,131 students, while Fieldale-Collinsville Middle School welcomed 762 students to be ranked third in the 2023-24 school year.

Bassett High School is part of Henry County Public Schools District, which roughly covers schools within Henry County, with its main office in Bassett.

In the previous school year, Bassett High School also had the highest number of students among Henry County schools.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
