Tunstall High School had the highest enrollment among Pittsylvania County schools, welcoming 850 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed at the time, 50.5% of them were female, and 49.5% were male.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 71.8% of Tunstall High School's total enrollment.

Among the 18 schools in Pittsylvania County, Twin Springs Elementary School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 643 students, while Chatham High School welcomed 617 students to be ranked third in the 2023-24 school year.

Tunstall High School is part of Pittsylvania County Public Schools District, which roughly covers schools within Pittsylvania County, with its main office in Dry Fork.

In the previous school year, Tunstall High School also had the highest number of students among Pittsylvania County schools.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
